Jamba Juice Launches Lunch Program
Published: March 4th, 2010
In schools across the United States, many students reach for a soda to accompany their sandwiches and pizza, but Jamba Juice is hoping they’ll reach for something else—a fruit smoothie. The California-based chain recently launched its Jamba Juice School Lunch Program nationwide to promote healthier food choices.
Announced by Jamba Juice president James D. White at this year’s Summit on Health, Nutrition and Obesity, the new School Lunch Program gives schools the ability to purchase and sell Jamba Juice products at fixed and reduced prices. According to White, the initiative serves to promote greater nutrition and physical fitness activities in schools and communities.
Jamba’s School Lunch Program arrives on the heels of Jamba Jump Day, an event co-sponsored with CAHPERD—the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance—which saw more than 88,000 Californians break the Guinness Book of World Records record for the “most people jumping or skipping rope at the same time.”
